Ellen MacArthur Foundation
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation's mission is to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a UK-based, globally-active charity working to accelerate the transition from a take-make-waste linear economy towards a circular economy. A circular economy, built on eliminating waste, circulating products and materials at their highest value, and regenerating nature, can simultaneously tackle planetary challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. To do this, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation publishes evidence-based reports, collaborates with businesses and policymakers, and supports the education of the next generation of circular designers and thought leaders.
-
Plastics - By 2050 there could be more plastic than fish in the ocean. We can't recycle or reduce our way out of this crisis. The Foundation is working with some of the planet's biggest plastic producers to change how they design, use, and reuse plastic.
-
Fashion - Globally, the equivalent of a truckload of clothes is burnt or buried in landfill every second. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is working with some of the world's largest brands to create a circular economy for fashion where waste is designed out from the start.
-
Food - Our food system is the primary driver of biodiversity loss and accounts for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions. But it can be redesigned to help nature thrive. The Foundation is working with the food industry to design food that’s good for farmers, businesses and the environment.
Players of People's Postcode Lottery are supporting the Ellen MacArthur Foundation with its ambitious goal of creating a circular economy that's good for people, businesses, and nature. For more information visit www.ellenmacarthurfoundation.org | @circulareconomy.
