Greenpeace Environmental Trust
Defending our natural world from destruction, Greenpeace Environmental Trust is the charitable arm of the wider Greenpeace movement
Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from destruction. Its vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.
The Greenpeace Environmental Trust champions greater understanding of our planet, funding vital projects, nationally and globally, to defend people and nature. Separate from the campaigning arm of Greenpeace, the Trust invests in scientific research, investigations, community outreach, education, and more.
Greenpeace was founded in 1971 by a small group of concerned individuals, who set sail to Amchitka island off the coast of Alaska to bear witness to a US nuclear weapons test. Its old fishing boat was called 'The Greenpeace'. Today, Greenpeace is present in over 40 countries around the world. The movement is growing every day, and its commitment to realising its vision is as strong as ever.
Will McCallum, Co-Executive Director at Greenpeace UK, said, "the only way to protect the planet is by challenging 'business as usual'. We need to all come together, inspiring ever more people to join us as, we campaign for the systemic change we need to tackle the nature, health and climate emergencies."
Our players are supporting Greenpeace Environmental Trust to promote radical changes and new solutions to the ways we live on this planet, so that we can all call it home for generations to come.
Now a directly-supported charity, Greenpeace Environmental Trust previously received an amazing £500,000 from Postcode Green Trust.
